I recently visited Sivananda and it all came in the perfect timing. I took a Yoga Nidra Teacher Training course with Dr. Marc Halpern, founder of Nevada City’s California College of Ayurveda. Marc describes Yoga Nidra as the art of conscious relaxation, allowing one to reach new states of conscious awareness with acute perception of both the physical and subtle body. With practice, one can feel the flow of prana moving through physical, emotional, and energetic blockages, resulting in the healing of the body and mind and the expansion of consciousness.
This retreat and training came in perfect timing for me as I was shedding things in my life which no longer allowed me to serve my highest good in the world, resulting in creative manifestations that I can now share for the benefit of my community at large.
At Sivanada, I am in beautiful nature, practicing yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and joyful chanting. With this trip, I had the added benefit of relaxing into yoga nidra both receiving and guiding others, which surprisingly I found mutually beneficial and peaceful to my energy field.
Sivananda has many different programs available throughout the year from vegetarian cooking classes, ayurvedic healing, personal retreat, teacher trainings, musical performances and much more, all at great rates as they include lodging (different options available) and vegetarian meals.
